The Storefront Theater by Matthew Mazzotta turns a disused storefront in Lyons, Nebraska into an open-air community theatre. Judges described it as "poetic and powerful" and said: "Architecture is for the community and this is the project that serves the community the most." It won the Rebirth Project of the Year and was selected from eight architecture category winners to be named the overall Architecture Project of the Year at Dezeen Awards 2018. Windvogel by Studio Roosegaarde is an energy-generating, light-emitting kite. Judges described the project as "innovative, emotional and functional".
