At KLM, we're committed to making our processes and products more sustainable, thereby reducing our environmental footprint. We hope our latest video will inspire others to do the same. Reduce your carbon footprint
With our CO2ZERO programme you can compensate part of your flight via reforestation, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) or a combination of both. You're in control; when you fly KLM, you are able to choose either or both ways.

SAF included in fuel of our flights
As of this year, we are adding 0.5% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for all flights departing from Amsterdam. Yes, today we're still talking about small amounts of SAF, delivering only minor reductions in CO2 emissions. We can't create this market on our own, but we can – and will – lead the way.

Optimum maintenance
Sustainability is not just a question of improving our fleet, but also our processes. We can reduce CO2 emissions by critically assessing operations and making minor adjustments, ranging from more efficient routes to more timely maintenance and the recycling of washing water.
