Drones are "potentially as disruptive as the internet" and will transform cities and the way we live in them, according to Dezeen's short documentary Elevation.

Dezeen releases "mind-blowing" drone documentary

Elevation sets out how drones could revolutionise the way people travel, transform how buildings are designed and built, and radically alter the form cities take.

Described by UK culture secretary Matt Hancock as "mind-blowing", the 18-minute movie explores the impact autonomous flying vehicles will have on our lives, and discusses both the positive and negative implications of a future when drones are as "ubiquitous as pigeons".

Elevation documentary premieres in New York

Elevation launched in New York last week at a premiere at Public, Ian Schrager's new hotel on the Lower East Side designed by Herzog & de Meuron.

Over 200 guests attended the event, including architects Claesson Koivisto Rune and Dara Huang; designers Lee Broom and Philippe Malouin; interior designer Afroditi Krassa; and artists Joep van Lieshout and Camille Walala.
