View online | | Dezeen has teamed up with French illustrator Jean Jullien and his animator brother Nicolas to create an exclusive film telling the story behind five chairs by American furniture brand Emeco. | Jean and Nicolas Jullien have illustrated products from across Emeco's 75-year history in the wry, playful style that has marked Jean's rapid rise to prominence as an illustrator in recent years. Dezeen brought the duo and the furniture brand together almost a year ago, when Emeco asked us to suggest innovative ways to tell the brand's story. Since then, Dezeen has been working with the Pennsylvania-based brand and the London-based artists to produce the six-minute movie, in which Emeco CEO Gregg Buchbinder tells the story behind five of the American furniture brand's chairs. Watch the film › | To celebrate the launch of the animated film, we have updated the masthead of our website with a hand-drawn version of the Dezeen logo by Jean Jullien. Despite many updates to Dezeen over the years – including the revamp of the site in 2016 – this is the first time we have altered the logo that appears at the top of Dezeen since Swiss designer and typographer Micha Weidmann created the original logo in 2007. Jullien's version of the logo recreates Weidmann's lopsided design in his trademark hand-drawn style, which he created for the closing sequence of our movie for Emeco. | Jean Jullien is a French graphic designer based in London who rose to prominence via his highly popular Instagram account. Graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2010, Jullien's work comprises illustration, photography, video, costumes, installations, books, clothing and sculpture. He forms one half of the Jullien Brothers together with his animator and musician brother Nicolas.
